[The stage is dark, with the sound of a storm in the background. A ship is seen struggling in the stormy sea.]
STAGE HANDS:
[The sound of the storm intensifies.]
Ferdinand:
[The youngest brother of Prospero, the ship’s captain.]
Oh, brother, the sea is wild! We are lost!
[Aboard the ship, Prospero and his daughter, Miranda, are discussing the situation.]
Prospero:
[The exiled Duke of Milan, now a powerful sorcerer.]
Fear not, Ferdinand. This storm is but a means to an end. We are being guided to our destination.
Miranda:
[Prospero’s daughter, raised in isolation on an island.]
Daddy, what is our destination?
Prospero:
[A mysterious smile on his face.]
It is a place where we can start anew.
Scene 2: The Shipwreck
[The ship is washed ashore, and the passengers, including Ferdinand, are rescued by Prospero and his daughter.]
Caliban:
[Prospero’s loyal, but somewhat dim-witted, servant.]
Hai! Hai! I’ve found ‘em! The humans!
Prospero:
[To Caliban.]
Very well, Caliban. Take them to the cave.
[The passengers are led to a cave where they are greeted by Prospero and Miranda.]
Stephano:
[A ship’s officer.]
Who are you, sir? And what brings you to this island?
Prospero:
[With a knowing smile.]
I am Prospero, the exiled Duke of Milan. And you, my friends, have been brought here by the same storm that brought me to this island.
Act II: The Enchantment
Scene 1: The Enchanted Garden
[Prospero uses his magical powers to create an enchanted garden for his guests.]
Ariel:
[Prospero’s spirit, bound to serve him.]
Hark! I hear the music of the enchanted garden!
Prospero:
[To the passengers.]
Welcome to my island, my friends. Enjoy the garden, but remember, it is all an illusion.
Scene 2: The Masque
[Prospero organizes a masque, where the passengers are entertained by a magical performance.]
Trinculo:
[A ship’s officer, now serving Prospero.]
What a strange show! I’ve never seen anything like it.
Miranda:
[To Ferdinand.]
Daddy, this is amazing! I wish I could see the real world like this.
Prospero:
[To himself.]
Ah, to see the world as it truly is…
Act III: The Reckoning
Scene 1: The Unmasking
[Prospero reveals the true nature of the masque to his guests.]
Prospero:
[To the passengers.]
You have all been deceived by my magic. But now, it is time for you to face the consequences of your actions.
Scene 2: The Confrontation
[Prospero confronts his brother, Antonio, who plotted against him.]
Antonio:
[To Prospero.]
You are a monster! You have used your magic to control us all!
Prospero:
[To Antonio.]
You are the one who deserves to be controlled. You have caused so much pain and suffering to others.
Scene 3: The Resolution
[Prospero decides to release his spirit, Ariel, and forgive his enemies.]
Prospero:
[To Ariel.]
Free me from this servitude, my dear spirit.
Ariel:
[To Prospero.]
So be it.
[Prospero and Miranda prepare to leave the island.]
Prospero:
[To Ferdinand.]
Ferdinand, you have been a good friend to me. I forgive you for everything that has happened between us.
Ferdinand:
[To Prospero.]
Thank you, Master. I will never forget you.
[Prospero and Miranda leave the island, leaving the stage dark and silent.]
[The end.]
